OUR PARTNERS

Our first steps were taken in partnership with the County Government of Lamu Health Ministry, and our work to improve access to health services continues today. After every sail, the team holds a debrief back at our offices hosted by The Moon Houses. We then get in touch with MEDS to place our order for the next batch of medicines. We never have to worry about them arriving on time because Air Kenya, our reliable and community-friendly domestic airline, transports them for us at no cost. Onboard our dhow, we’re now confident that we can store perishable items thanks to our solar-powered refrigerator donated by The Village Experience & Big Kids 4 Kenya. They also gave us a “vaccine motorbike” to transport them efficiently. We wouldn’t work as effectively without the support of Doctors of the World, who helped get our wonderful programme manager onboard. When travelling on the road, we are side by side with Northern Rangelands Trust, and now that we’ve joined forces with AISEC we no longer have a shortage of volunteers to assist our team on the ground. We are very excited to have received support from The French Embassy in Kenya who is backing our efforts to engage the youth in remote communities and train them to become our Health Scouts. The Polish Embassy in Kenya is also making this dream come true by funding our very own training facility on Pate island. Last but never least, the wonderful Manda Bay is always there to lend a hand when needed.
